
Another experimental cake.
modified from a simple cake. i added poppy seed into the batter.
craving for some creamcheese frosting. jeng..jeng..jeng tadaaaaa lemon cream cheese frosting. at first i was sceptical, will my cake became sour?
few months back, i bought a piece of lemon cheese cake from a very popular cake shop, it just didn't go with my taste.. huhuhu..
then, being myself, stubborn, i tried this recipe.. walllaaaaaaaa.. very nice... the cake so soft & the frosting just a perfect match...
RECIPE
THE CAKE
Ingredients
3/4 c Flour
1/2 c sugar
1/4 c oil
2 eggs
1.5 tbsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 c warm water
2 tsp poppy seed - otional
METHOD
1. Sift the Flour and baking powder
2. Beat the eggs and sugar until well blended and creamed.
3. Add the oil, vanilla essense and warm water and mix well. Add the flour and fold into the egg mixture. Add in the poppy seed. Fold mixture.
4. Grease a cake tin and pour this batter into it.
5. Steam for about 20 minutes
LEMON CREAM CHEESE FROSTING
Ingredients
30g Butter
80g Cream Cheese
1 cup icing sugar - sifted
1 tsp grated lemon
1 tsp lemon juice
Method
1. Beat Cream Cheese & butter until smooth & combined
2. Add in icing sugar gradually. Beat again until well combined.
3. Spread on the cake.
